THE STORY OF GAMINE
2022: I want a snazzed-up dress shirt
I finally checked off a two-part item I had on my To Do List for years:One: Creating a digital pattern of a no-frills, androgynous tuxedo shirt, just playful enough to look intricate, but not cute.Super thrilled, as I love an androgynous shirt.Knowing the ready-to-wear market, I was sure there are a lot of people unhappy about standard sizing that doesn't fit them.So as a second challenge, I wanted to make the pattern a universal, fully parametric vessel that can adapt not only to me, but to anyone looking for their non-normie dress shirt dream.
2024: Others now want snazzed-up dress shirts
There's a range of women I'm proud to have made a shirt for by now. My pattern adapts rmore reliably to individual finishes and "pooled needs", such as:look:
female but bold, masculine or gender-fluid finishpattern:
body specs, such as aging body morphology, weight loss or gain, a large chest, dowager's humps, etc.
gender specs body specifics such as outlier heights and sizes, m2f or f2m transition,
2025: Enter stage
I exhibited my digital shirt pattern maker and a first batch of custom-made shirts in May at MotionLab's Demo Day 2025 to get some feedback and was even fortunate enough to write some custom orders.
About me:
Next to my obvious shirt obsession, I also run a fashion label specialising in fashion tech prototyping and pattern making.
HOW DOES SHE DO IT?
A Tech Core
GAMINE is essentially a norm-defying digital shirt pattern maker customised for fluid sizing and individual fit following body type, age, or size within or out of the norm.While the pattern is generated in an adapted open source shirt maker, the generated individual patterns are tested for fit on an Avatar with the client's measurements in Browzwear VStitcher.All parts are then laser cut and handed to a production partner to tailor your shirt.
For your shirt, I take your measures, generate and cut your shirt, and add special features per your request. My tailor in Berlin then takes over for production.

Okay, down to business:
I make shirts for people who find it hard to find a shirt.I take your measurements to get a perfect fit down.I produce on demand only. gamine is a very small label, but I want to offer quality shirting fabrics and top level finishings.To keep this little engine running and not get lost in the wilderness of stockpiling, I'm not a 10 different shirts with 10 different fabric options kind of operation.
